The Godfather: The Gameis anaction-adventure gamedeveloped and published byElectronic Arts. It is the first game in theGodfatherseries and based upon the 1972 of the same name. Originally relsed in March 2006 for thePlayStation 2,Xboxand ,The Godfatherhas since been relsed for thePlayStation 3,Xbox 360andWii. A smaller variant of the game has also been published for thePlayStation Portable.The game is notable in that it ftures the return of several actors from the original to lend theirvoice. The participating actors areJames CaanasSonny Corleone,Robert DuvallasTom HaandAbe VigodaasSalvatore Tessio, with the most notable absences beingMarlon Brando(because of his ill hlth and his late dth, the audio producers found that the quality of the recordings were not good enough and hired an imitator, although players can hr one piece of audio that Brando recorded),John Cazale(due to his dth in 1978),Richard Castellano(due to his dth in 1988) andAl Pacino(who is absent in as well as voice, choosing to lend his instd toScarface: The World Is Yours).Another notable absence isGianni Russo, who playedCarlo Rizziin the , and who was still alive while the game was being developed.
